Everyone can (and should!) pursue the creative arts.
When people I work with say, "I wish I was creative like that..." I can tell that what they're really thinking is, "I wish I could draw."
When people I work with say, "I wish I was creative like that..." I can tell that what they're really thinking is, "I wish I could draw."
Well...there are a few things. Drawing isn't the only discipline that's "creative." In fact, every line of work involves creative thinking and creative problem-solving.
That said, studies show that having hobbies in the visual or performing arts does correlate with higher achievements in other areas. My theory is the open-ended nature of these practices helps us have more creative connection-making in anything that we do.
So if you're interested in hearing more about "being creative" or if you're in need of a creative opener for a team event, I have both a version that's a 10- to 15-minute team-building exercise or a brief ice-breaker version.
